Chocolate Dipped Frozen Banana Peanut Butter Sandwich

Chocolate Dipped Frozen Banana Peanut Butter Sandwich

Healthy treats that encourage vibrant skin from the inside out, yes, please! Who says that desserts have to be loaded with sugars and additives? No thanks! Let's enjoy foods that taste good but promote beautiful skin with each bite.

There is something about the combination of chocolate, peanut butter, and banana that makes most people's mouth water. These tasty treats are incredibly easy to make, taste amazing, and have wonderful beauty benefits. I love healthy treats because they are so satisfying, and afterwards, you feel great instead of having low energy and a sugar crash like most conventional treats. These are the perfect balance of healthy fats, protein, and carbohydrates. So delicious and nutritious!

Beauty Benefits

  • Bananas are rich in potassium which helps the skin look hydrated and supple. Bananas are also rich in antioxidants that help prevent fine lines and wrinkles. As well as being rich in zinc which helps combat acne.

  • Peanut butter and Coconut oil are rich in healthy fats to help keep the skin moisturized, glowing, and healthy. Consuming healthy fats helps blood sugar levels remain stable and encourages healthy hormones, which play a critical role in the appearance of the skin.

  • Dark chocolate is rich in flavonoids which help to protect the skin from UV rays, reduce skin discoloration, help with moisture retention, boost circulation, improve collagen, and is rich in minerals to prevent skin aging.

Recipe

  • 2 ripe bananas

  • 1 chocolate bar (I use @altereco 85% dark chocolate. It’s my favorite and low in sugar)

  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil

  • Salt, to your liking

Directions

  • Slice up the bananas 1/2 inch slices

  • Lay them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  • Spread a generous amount of organic peanut butter on one side of the banana.

  • Add the other half of the banana on top.

  • In a double boiler melt the chocolate and coconut oil.

  • Pour the mixture into a shallow tea cup or ramekin. This will make it easier to dip the bananas and make them pretty.

  • Dip the bananas + place back on parchment paper.

  • Once you have dipped all the bananas place whole tray into the freezer for at least 1 hour.

  • Pop them out and enjoy!

Pro Tip: Choose organic peanut butter if you can. Conventional peanuts are heavily sprayed with pesticides. Choose an organic peanut butter that contains roasted peanuts and nothing else. You can add a mineral rich sea salt yourself. By doing this you will avoid unhealthy added oils, sugars, and table salt.

I really hope you enjoy them!
