DIY Dry Shampoo For Hair Growth

Let's face it we don't always have time to wash our hair and sometimes we need a quick solution. Dry shampoo works really well to absorb the natural oils and gives the illusion of freshly washed hair.

Why make your own dry shampoo?

Most conventional dry shampoo on the market is made with ingredients that are unhealthy and can contribute to health issues over time. Plus dry shampoo is really easy to make at home with just a few simple ingredients.

You can customize your dry shampoo to blend in with your hair color and add ingredients that promote healthy hair growth.

Recipe:

  • 1/2 cup Arrowroot powder or cornstarch

  • 10 drops oil of your choice.

  • Lavender, peppermint, and rosemary are great options to support the health of the scalp and to promote hair growth.

You can skip if you prefer an unscented version.

  • 2 tbsp. Cacao powder More or less depending on the color of your hair. Cacao powder is wonderful for adding a bit of pigment to the dry shampoo to avoid an ashy look in the hair.

Light blondes can skip this step.

  • 1 tsp Cinnamon. If you have red hair or a reddish tint to your hair it will add a bit of balance to your shade and help to stimulate hair growth.

  • Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.

  • Mix thoroughly.

  • Store in an airtight container.

  • A small glass jar or container for powders is a great option.

How to Store Dry Shampoo

I really enjoy storing it in a jar so I can dip my makeup brush in it and apply it to the scalp for an even application.

Simple, natural, and cost effective beauty! Gotta love it!

I really hope you enjoy this all natural DIY beauty recipe. Cheers to healthy beautiful hair!
