Do you ever feel like you’re burning the candle at both ends? Girl I completely understand. We can get lost in taking care of others and the busy day to day. It’s a beautiful thing to ensure the ones around us are taken care of. But wait what about you?. You are just as important as everyone else and deserve some extra love and care. Practicing self care is not selfish it’s essential for a healthy balanced life. Taking time for yourself (even if it’s just a moment of silence between tasks) recharges your batteries and produces positive feelings and boosts confidence. Maintaining self-care is essential to your overall health and well being. Here’s how you can incorporate self-care into your daily life:. Try to eat a balanced meal everyday and meal prep to make it easier to stay on track. This will ensure your mood and energy levels remain steady. Daily say out loud 5 things that you are grateful for. It will establish a healthy appreciation of your life. (This has made a world of difference for me). Take deep breaths and hold for 5 seconds and release. This will help to calm your nervous system and give you more energy. Plus it protects you from snapping in situations that test your limits. Set an intention for your day. Visualize how you want it to go. In doing this you are creating direction and activating your receptivity. I started do this every morning and it’s amazing how much I can steer my day in the direction I am aiming for. Laugh more. Watch your favorite show, listen to that podcast or call up your favorite friend. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune function. A healthy dose of laughter releases endorphins and will leave you feeling fabulous.
