Are you curious about natural anti-aging remedies for healthy and glowing skin? Facial cupping and Gua Sha are two effective natural anti-aging tools that work wonders to support beauty and health.
As more women become aware of the health risks associated with traditional anti-aging methods, many are turning towards a more natural approach. Luckily, there are effective natural beauty remedies that help to support the appearance of the skin without harming your health or compromising the integrity of your skin.
You should know about two effective natural beauty treatments, Facial Cupping and Gua Sha. Both natural beauty treatments have been well researched and practiced by women worldwide to achieve healthy and glowing skin at every age.
A healthy body is the foundation of glowing skin, and natural beauty tools like facial cupping and Gua Sha support better health and glowing skin. Both beauty tools support lymphatic drainage for detoxification, resulting in healthier, brighter, and more youthful skin.
What is facial cupping?
Facial cupping is an ancient practice rooted in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It involves using suction cups on the face to stimulate the skin and muscles for improved circulation and a more radiant and youthful complexion. Facial cupping gently suctions the skin to stimulate blood flow to the area underneath the cup to encourage new blood vessel formation. The results are quite incredible with regular use.
According to licensed acupuncturist and facial rejuvenation specialist, Shahla Hashemizad, “Using facial cupping is like going to the gym for your facial muscles. Toning the muscles of the face greatly improves the signs of aging — this includes sagging skin and facial wrinkles.”
Facial cupping benefits
Improves blood and Qi (vital energy) circulation in the face
Stimulates collagen production
Brightens and improves skin texture
Gives an instant lift to the skin for a radiant and youthful appearance.
Reduces fine lines, and softens the appearance of deeper wrinkles.
Improves product absorption and nutrient delivery to facial tissues.
Decreases facial puffiness by encouraging lymphatic drainage
Brings more micronutrients to the face and, as a result, helps to get a more radiant, brighter, and youthful complexion.
Relaxes tension in the face

What is Gua Sha?
The Gua Sha is an ancient Chinese natural therapy over 2,000 years old. A gua sha facial is performed using a smooth stone that lifts and sculpts the face while helping to improve lymphatic drainage for a brighter and healthier complexion. It does a fantastic job at improving circulation to help clear out waste products like blackheads and pimples while lifting and sculpting the face for a more youthful appearance.
There are various gua sha stones you can choose from such as jade, rose quartz, amethyst, and Bian stone.
Shahla Hashemizad uses Bian stone in her expert-designed natural beauty kit which has over forty minerals known in Traditional Chinese Medicine for their healing properties and skin rejuvenation.

Which natural anti-aging beauty tool is right for you?
The Gua Sha is best for regular use, while the facial cupping is more advanced and best used once a week. I suggest starting with the Gua Sha and implementing it into your regular natural beauty routine. Then, work your way up to incorporating facial cupping into your weekly routine.
For a brief explanation of the facial Gua Sha, watch my television episode on LATV Network:
When to use the Facial Cupping Method and Gua Sha?
Gua Sha: I recommend using the facial Gua Sha a minimum of three times per week for the best results. However, if you can squeeze it into your daily routine, it will provide the best results. The facial Gua sha is a great self-care practice and excellent to use in the evening as a way to relax. Apply an anti-aging facial oil on clean, dry skin and use the facial gua sha while watching a movie. You will feel so relaxed and peaceful.
The Gua Sha can act as a natural facelift, so it is excellent to use on the day of a big event, so your skin will appear uplifted, contoured, and glowing in all of your photos.
If I have a television appearance or photo shoot, I always use the facial Gua Sha on the morning of the big day so my skin looks healthy and glowing.
Facial Cupping: Since facial cupping is a more advanced natural beauty treatment, it is best used once or twice weekly. Including facial cupping in your weekly routine can help smooth out the muscles and naturally soften the fine lines and wrinkles.
