Cooking can be a wonderful way to nourish our bodies with nutrient dense foods while creating a foundation for optimum wellness. However, the cookware we use can make a huge difference.
Did you know that conventional cookware such as nonstick pans, coated pots, Teflon, coated enamel that flakes off, and aluminum leech toxins into our food? These toxins can have a negative effect on our health.

A healthier cookware option is to switch to nontoxic cookware made of 100% pure ceramic.
My favorite non toxic cookware brand is Xtrema Cookware

Every time we cook, we are potentially increasing our toxin intake. Yikes! That's not what we want when creating healthy dishes that are meant to nourish our health.
I don’t know about you, but I had no idea about any of this ten years ago when I started trying my hand at eating healthy. You would think buying organic would be enough. Then to find out the cookware is contributing to toxins in the body is quite shocking! Are you with me?
It is important to look at all areas of our lifestyle that could potentially contribute to the toxic load of our bodies. This helps our bodies to function better and not to accelerate the aging process.
Non stick cookware contains a manmade chemical called perfluorooctanoic acid which stays in the human body for a long time accumulating and in the air in your home. At the same time, aluminum cookware is highly reactive & leaches into food.
It has been shown that these toxins are linked to cancer, liver damage, infertility, delays in growth development, neurotoxicity, high cholesterol, Alzheimer’s, thyroid issues, Inflammation, weakened immune system, allergies, etc.
None of this sounded appealing to me so I made thw switch to non toxic cookware to protect my health.
I am passionate about this topic and wanted to shed some light in hopes of bringing up a conversation that isn’t readily available in the media and is often overlooked.

More non toxic cookware options
Cast iron cookware (properly seasoned)
Pure clay cookware
High-quality stainless steel. The reason it should be high quality is it can leach nickel into your food if it is not high quality
Glass Cookware
Wooden cooking utensils (I love bamboo that is not coated) Plastic cooking utensils leech microplastics into food
Glass Tupperware for cooking & storing food in a healthy alternative to plastic
Instead of using aluminum foil when cooking, use parchment paper or a glass cooking dish. Aluminum has been linked to Alzheimer's and other neurological disorders
Being conscious of what you preparare your food can help reduce your toxic load, encourage our bodies to function optimally, and supports beauty from the inside out.
Cheers to healthy cooking!
